On July 30, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. MDT, USU Forestry Extension hosted the ninth "Learn at Lunch" webinar. Sheri Shannon and Meridith Perkins presented information about the national Big Trees program and Utah's own champion big trees.

Big trees captivate everyone. Silent giants standing tall and wide among their diminutive comrades make us take pause and appreciate the massiveness of these amazing trees. Sheri Shannon will then showcase the National Big Tree program and explain some of the efforts American Forests is taking to elevate awareness of big trees across the country. The Utah Big Tree program attempts to capture some of that awe and provide a place to publicly recognize champion big trees. With 194 big trees on the list, Utah has a lot to celebrate. During the webinar, Meridith Perkins will highlight some of Utah's unique big trees, as well as give an overview of the local recognition program.
