On October 29, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. MDT, USU Forestry Extension hosted the twelfth "Learn at Lunch" webinar. James Long, Mary Lou Fairweather, and Karen Mock presented new research about western aspen and its reproductive ecology.

This presentation briefly describes the changing view of regeneration ecology in western aspen, the findings underlying this changing view, and the silvicultural implications.  We will discuss the traditional view of western aspen regeneration, describe field observations and genetic results that challenge some aspects of this view, and discuss the silvicultural implications for aspen regeneration and management in the western US.
