Every year forest fire causes major disruptions to urban areas that sit adjacent to the wildland. Targeted landscape management practices and mitigation efforts play critical roles in ensuring public safety and protecting valuable community assets. This talk will focus on the wildland urban interface challenges in Utah as well as highlight opportunities for tree care professionals and municipal foresters to be part of the solution.
